Rules for shotgun use at Hale Mountain:
Shotguns should be shot in the pistol pit.
Alternatively, they may be used on the rifle range with the 40 yard target ONLY. When using the 40 yard target, slugs should be used. However, if you need to pattern a turkey load, the 40 yard target can be used with Extra Full/Turkey chokes if you determine that damage to the target stand will not occur. This is done by testing in pistol pit first and extrapolating 40 yard results prior to verification.
The reason for the above is that shotguns tend to deposit a lot of lead in the target stands. This damages them over time.
Additionally, targets/objects/etc should NEVER be propped up against the target stands.
